FACTS WHAT DOES CBI FEDERAL CREDIT UNION DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
WHY? Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. What We Do
How does CBI Federal Credit Union protect my personal information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
Access to nonpublic personal information about you is restricted to only those employees or servicers who need the information to provide products or services to you.
How does CBI Federal Credit Union collect my personal information? We collect your personal information, for example, when you:
  1. open an account or apply for a loan
  2. make deposits or withdrawals from your account
  3. pay us by check or show your driver's license
We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.
Why can't I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only:
  1. sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes - information about your creditworthiness
  2. affiliates from using your information to market you
  3. sharing for non affiliates to market you
State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.
Definitions
Affiliates: Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.
  1. CBI Federal Credit Union has no affiliates
Nonaffiliates: Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies.
  1. CBI Federal Credit Union does not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you
Joint Marketing: A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products and services to you.
Our joint marketing partners include:
  1. credit card companies
  2. insurance companies
  3. financial institutions
