You now have the ability to pay your loan with your Debit Card from another institution for a low $5.99 fee.  Payments are applied in real time so you can avoid late payments!  

If you already have your loan setup for automatic payments this will not change your current setup even though you may receive a reminder text.

Things to Know:

  • You will receive a text message 5 days prior to your due date reminding you of the monthly scheduled payment amount.  You will be able to review your payment options or you will be able to opt out of our text message PAYMENT service by texting "STOP".
  • When you verify your account for the first time you will have to provide your member number and date of birth: 
    • 4-digit pin:  once you have entered your account number and date of birth, it will prompt you to create a 4-digit pin.  Store this information in a secure place as you will need this pin number to verify future payments.
    • Preferred method of payment:  to make a payment you will have to add your preferred form of payment in the portal.  You can do this by selecting ADD New Debit Card or ADD New Bank Account which will prompt you to a secure website for you to input your information.  If done correctly, there will be a message stating "Payment Method Success" and you will be redirected to the payment portal.
  • Once your account has been successfully verified, you will be directed to the payment portal where you'll be able to see all of your loans and will also be able to select preferred payment method.

FAQs
  • Can I make payments on my loans through online and mobile banking?
    • Yes.  Log in to your online or mobile account and select "Make A Payment".  This will take you to the payment portal where you will have to verify your account.
  • Can I use my credit card to make my CBI FCU payments?
    • No.  Only Debit cards will be accepted.  If you don't have a Debit card you can setup your other institution routing number and account number to make payments. 
  • How quickly are loan payments posted?
    • Payments are processed and posted in real time.  Posting to your Debit account can take up to three (3) business days.
  • How much does MessagePay cost? 
    • Each payment processed from a checking or savings account will receive a processing fee of $5.99.  If your loan payment is returned by your other financial institution, you will be charged a $25.00 returned payment fee.
  • When will I receive a text payment reminder?
    • 5 days before the scheduled due date as a reminder of an upcoming payment and 5 days after if your payment is not made.
  • Can I make a mortgage payment?
    • Yes.  This service is available for all installment loans including mortgage.
  • Can I make a CBI FCU credit card payment?
    • No.  Not at this time please log into ezcardinfo (eZCard).
  • Do I need to set up MessagePay if I already have automatic payments set up for my loan?
    • No.  Members who have automatic payments already in place can disregard the monthly MessagePay alert.
  • Can I change the amount of the payment I want to pay?
    • Yes.  Use the link to go to the MessagePay site and edit the amount of the payment.
  • Does MessagePay have a payment limit?
    • Yes.  There is a $3,000 per payment maximum.
  • Can I still pay my loans online if I opt out of receiving text notifications?
    • Yes.  You can access the payment portal through our website or online mobile banking.  However, you won't receive text reminders about upcoming payments and can't make payments via text message.
